Senegal!!!
I am soooo extremely and positively excited. You know how sometimes you get this feeling that you know the outcome of something but you try your hardest to not hope too much for it in case the instinct is wrong and then you'll be disappointed?? This was one of those instances. I really badly wanted to be placed in Senegal but all I could do was pray and hope. Then the past few weeks I had this feeling that I was going to go to Senegal and then yesterday I go the official Invite and there it was... Senegal!!! My official title is Small Business Counselor working in Small Enterprise Development.
I leave for pre-departure orientation on Sept. 8th which is my mother's birthday. Its in Atlanta. The group of 45 or so of us will meet up there before leaving for Africa on the 10th/11th.
Now I'm going to be busy with a flurry of pre-departure tasks such as passport and visa stuff, packing lists, resume stuff... deciding whether to bring a laptop. Supposedly most people working in the business sector have electricity... I'm guessing internet is a totally different cup of tea.
